Tutors Dyslexia

Our Branch sponsors an annual conference, which attracts over 500 teachers, administrators, parents, counselors, therapists and psychologists.

We also hold programs in four geographical regions within the State.

We offer more extensive teacher training institutes, as well.

We publish newsletters to keep our members informed of our calendar of events, offer tips for parents and teachers, and provide up-to-date information on educational opportunities, research articles, and legislation.

We offer Feast & Forums; a series of programs offered in each region for teachers and parents. Topics are selected to satisfy a participant's hunger for information related to dyslexia and to serve as a forum to disburse new research and policies.

IDA cautions parents who are looking for instructors, clinicians, schools, and programs to be very thorough in their review of programs and services that claim to treat dyslexia or “cure” dyslexia. In this era of internet advertising, claims are frequently made about therapies and treatment programs that have little or no scientific merit. Claims about the effectiveness of some widely advertised programs and/or their components may be unsubstantiated by objective, independent research, and the practitioners of those programs and methods may not have met customary standards for training in the field.
