The Virginia Branch of the
International Dyslexia Association is seeking proposals for
presentations at our 33rd annual conference, to be held in Richmond,
Virginia, on March 6 and 7, 2009.
Deadline for Submissions: August 20, 2008
Acceptance Notification: October 15, 2008
Guidelines for Submissions:
1. Topics must address research or practice related to teaching
children, youth, or adults with dyslexia and/or related disabilities.
2. Proposals to be considered for a three-hour workshop time slot must
include audience participation.
3. Proposals that focus primarily on a commercial product will be
considered for a Product Demonstration session. The presenter must
attend the conference as an exhibitor.
4. Presenters are responsible for providing handouts. Approximate
attendance numbers for each session will be available the week before
the conference.
5. Presenters will be offered complimentary conference registration but
are responsible for all other expenses.
6. Proposals must include the following:
a. Proposal submission form
b. Abstract (maximum 500 words)
c. Brief biographical statement that could be used to introduce you.
d. Resume or curriculum vita (maximum two pages)
